The regional focus of KLIK green lies in the federal states Berlin and Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and the East German federal states Thuringia, Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The regional focus is in each three cases represented by a respective organization. These are the following:

The BUND Berlin serves as the project lead and works to improve awareness of environmental protection and conservation in the urban space, particularly in the federal state of Berlin. On behalf of the department „Climate protection in Health Care” the BUND Berlin awards the quality label Energy saving clinic to German hospitals since 2001.

The project partner KGNW  is the association of hospital operators and their umbrella organizations in the German federal state North Rhine-Westphalia. The KGNW represents 344 hospitals, where more than 4.6 Mio patients are treated annually.

The project partner UKJ is a University hospital in Thuringia. With a staff of more than 5,000, it is the biggest employer in the region. Its 26 clinical centers and 25 institutes provide care for 53,000 in- and 275,000 outpatients per year, as well as teaching for 2,500 students of medicine, dentistry, molecular medicine and medical photonics.

The cooperating organizations add very different points of view and experiences to KLIK green.
